Your Identity in Christ | Who God Says You Are
Devotional For Today
February 3rd, 2025
SCRIPTURE READING: “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.” 1 Thessalonians 5:6 (NIV)

Embracing Your Identity in Christ
Today, I want to remind you of the greatness that’s housed within you; your identity in Christ and who God says you are.
Because your greatness cannot be duplicated, it’s God’s desire for you to stay with your plan and not the plan God has for someone else. God has a purpose for you that’s big and life-changing not only for you but for others as well.
The World’s False Limitations
There may be people you don’t even know…to people you are close to who see you as this person that will not amount to anything. First, I want to say that you’ve had so much push back because the devil knows you are a gem. I’ve had to endure hard times of feeling like an outsider or that my big dreams were too big for people. And that’s just it…they actually are. The road of “keep going” is what I needed to stay on to continue to stay my course.
There are those people with friends and family that believe in them but there seems to be a glass ceiling they put above their head. This ceiling is called “limitations” and it’s what those loved ones or strangers believe we can and can’t do because they say well how could they? But the key is believing in who God says you are because what he says is a far better word.
I know you are that courageous woman God called you to be; break the false ceiling and false words over your life because you are not measured by the constraints that people put you in.
Believing Who God Says You Are
In our main scripture for today it speaks of being awake and sober. I believe being awake and sober means keeping ourselves meditated on the word day and night so that we are not caught up in the enemy’s devices like Eve. I rather not be removed from the garden of promises and purpose and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be either.
Eve allowed someone else’s vision and thought pattern dictate her vision and thought pattern to make the biggest decision and mistake not only for herself but the world. Let us not be like Eve… let us not be like others.
So many times we have heard in life of people just like Eve blaming others for the choices they’ve made, the life they lived, and the identity in Christ they never took on.
Staying accountable is important while also being awake and sober to live in God’s image… the ultimate assignment…Our Identity in Christ. He has given you dreams and desires that have been inspired by him.
He has given you visions and ideas that are provided to you as a gift by his spirit to be in partnership with HIM… to create. Queen, your life and purpose doesn’t look like anyone else’s; it is truly God-made just for you. Woman of God, God says you are:
Loved, Cared for, Made in his image, Called according to his purpose, A child of God, A Powerhouse, Being transformed by his spirit, Fearfully and wonderfully made, What he made you to be is Enough…you are enough.
So, how can I live more in my identity in Christ?
First, we must let go of everything not serving us. A new way of living can be achieved by getting rid of everything negatively attached to us. Exchange toxic friends for kingdom one’s. Exchange self-negative talk for affirmations and faith in Christ.
When you feel that conviction from the Lord, that gut feeling, that feeling that you shouldn’t do something, allow God to guide you into protection and obedience from him.
Once you remove toxic distractions you can then begin to see more of a life with kingdom intention, purpose, clarity and with who God says you are as you grow daily in your walk with the Savior.
